The All Progressives Congress (APC) has
scoffed at recent publications in the media as well
as a documentary about former Rivers State
Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Chris Finebone, the Rivers State APC Publicity
Secretary, said these were part of campaigns by
rivals to demonise Amaechi and influence President
Muhamadu Buhari against naming him in his
cabinet.
Finebone said the documentary had been airing
since last Friday.
He described the production, which claims acts of
impropriety by Amaechi, was “a highly noxious,
obnoxious and vexatious documentary.”
“To the APC, the documentary is all a repetition of
the same documentary terrorism the PDP (People’s
Democratic Party) deployed against General
Muhammadu Buhari during the campaigns for the
2015 general elections.”

He said it was not surprising that the medium for
airing the documentary is the same AIT that he said
angered Nigerians with documentaries that
disparaged Buhari and his family members to
ensure Nigerians did not vote for him.
“The present documentary is simply aimed at
driving a wedge between the President and the
former governor by blackmailing President Buhari
from having a place in his government for Rt. Hon.
Chibuike Amaechi,” said Finebone.
He also singled out some media of being part of
alleged campaigns to demonise Amaechi.
“As part of the strategic plan to destroy the former
governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi
Amaechi, the publication dished out totally
fabricated tissues of lies that belong to the very
depth of hell aimed at deceiving and hoodwinking
the gullible.”
Comment could not be obtained from the parties
said to be behind the campaign against Amaechi.
