Rev. Jonathan Babalola, the Senior Pastor of Union Baptist
Church, Ekotedo, Ibadan, on Sunday told Nigerians to be
prepared for more changes during the administration of
President Muhammadu Buhari.
Babalola, who said this at the 70th anniversary of the
church, also urged politicians to shun all forms of corrupt
practices and embrace the fight against corruption.
He said that politicians were supposed to be good examples
to members of the public, urging them to apply the
teachings in churches and mosques to all aspects of their
lives.
Babalola said that the constitution of the church , which was
recently launched, was meant to guide the leadership in the
administration of the church.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the church
had been in existence since Jan. 1, 1945.
NAN also reports that the anniversary started on Sept. 13
with various activities such as medical test and visitation to
orphanages while awards were presented to those who had
contributed to the growth of the church.
Among the beneficiaries was Rev. Samuel Oladitan, a 96-
year-old cleric, who served in the church between 1988 and
1994.
The anniversary also witnessed a fund-raising for the
development of the church.
