The Federal Ministry of Education said lack
of accurate data may cause Nigeria to fail in its
obligation of providing the international community
information on its critical sectors.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr MacJohn Nwaobiala,
made the observation on Monday in Abuja at a
meeting with the National Technical Committee on
the Implementation of Basic Registry and
Information System in Nigeria (BRSIN).
According to him, lack of accurate data also means
that Nigeria may not be able to provide data about
education at relevant forums.
Nwaobiala commended the Federal Government
for developing BRISIN for the purpose of providing
basic infrastructure for data collection and storage
in the nation.
He acknowledged that BRSIN would assist the
ministry to successfully fight dearth of education
data for the development of the sector.
