New Made In Nigeria Automobiles To Be Release In The Market Next Month [Pictures]
The Federal Government of Nigeria has ongoing plans to roll out made in Nigeria Auto-cars into the automobile market by next month of June 2014. This statement was revealed by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Samuel Ortom when he received a delegation led by Mr. Yves Moulin from Automobile Peugeot Company from France in his office in Abuja. The Punch reported.
While confidently addressing the
delegation, Mr Ortom said the newly introduced auto policy is quite effective
and it is attracting automobile brands all over the world to come establish
assembly plants right here in Nigeria. He further said,
“The automotive policy is derived from the National Industrial Revolution Plan, and we are happy with the response we have been getting from the automotive industry worldwide; and this policy is working effectively as a result. When the policy was introduced, people criticized it and most of them do not understand the benefit of the policy. We have had several stakeholders from automotive industry approaching us to set up assembly plants and spare parts plants in Nigeria. I want to assure you on behalf of the government that, we will do everything to make sure the automobile policy is a success.”
According to the managing director of Peugeot
Automobile Nigeria Limited Mr Ibrahim Boyi, the first set of Peugeot
cars
assembled in Nigeria will be supplied to the market by next month. This
is one of the achievement met by the Federal Government. More pictures after the cut.
I think this
is a great achievement for Nigeria as it will also reduce the cost of cars in
the country. Or what do you think?
