Eaglets set to rout DR Congo in Kinshasa
Players of Nigeria U-17 team, the Golden Eagles, have assured their handlers and Nigerians in general that their opponent in today Africa Championship qualifier, DR Congo, will be defeated.Having been counseled by their coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, on the importance of winning the encounter, the players in their response through their captain assured everyone that nothing would be better than victory against Congo DR.
It would be recalled that coach of the team had earlier warned players against any form of complacency.
The match billed for Kinshasa was moved from July 20 following the Nigeria Football Federation’s suspension by the world football ruling body.
Anuneke told the players after Wednesday’s training at the University of Calabar to have nothing but a winning attitude while assuring that the players selected for the encounter are fit and ready to do the country proud.
“Now is the moment of truth for us because the serious business of qualification for Niger 2015 would begin for us in Congo,” Amuneke told his players.
“All what we have done before is now in the past because we would now be judged based on our performance particularly in this match.
“We must go to Congo with the sole objective of winning and that is the mental attitude we are must all have,” he noted.
