Explosion Kills 10, Injures 27 at Maiduguri Market

An explosion at the popular Maiduguri Monday market Tuesday killed
10 persons and injured 27 others, according to a security source.
The source who was involved in the evacuation of the corpses and
rescuing of the injured victims, said the explosion occurred at about
8:30am when people have started coming to the market.
Though the cause of the explosion could not yet be ascertained but the
explosives were believed to have been planted by the members of the
outlawed terrorist group, Boko Haram.
The security source said: "After we heard the loud bang, we immediately
moved into the area and found 10 people dead and the 27 persons who
were in pains from injuries we took to both University of Maiduguri
Teaching Hospital (UMTH) and the State Specialists Hospital."
