Caitlyn Jenner accepts Arthur Ashe Courage Award at ESPYs with emotional speech

Delivering an emotional speech, Caitlyn Jenner on Wednesday night accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles in front of an eager audience that included not only some of the country’s biggest sports stars, but also her own family. Donning a floor-length white Versace gown, Jenner, 65, took the stage and told the crowd, "Just a few months ago I had never met anyone who was like me.” She continued, "I dealt with my situation on my own in private. It’s been eye-opening, inspiring and also frightening." As Jenner tearfully addressed the crowd, she went on to note, "Trans people deserve something vital: They deserve your respect.” "Trans people deserve something vital -- they deserve your respect." -
