Kudos to Buhari over bailout for states

lease let me use this medium to sincerely commend President Muhammadu Buhari for giving a comprehensive bailout package worth N713.7 Billion to cash strapped states, to pay arrears of salaries and pension of pensioners who have not been paid for months. Again, big kudos to President Buhari for coming to the aid of the long suffering workers. He is worth a leader and father of the nation by putting aside partisanship in approving the intervention fund for all the states. I see the bailout as an endorsement of the financial recklessness of some of the governors, amounting to promoting their perceived corrupt tendencies and their uncontrollable cost of governance. Actually, the economy of the country cum the states is facing challenges, including the drop in revenue stream to the government obviously from the oil shock. It should also be stated here, that the state governors should buckle up to protect and ensure that the health, safety and welfare of all persons in their employment are safeguarded and not endangered or abused. Also, my advice to the debtor state governments is that they should ensure proper use of the bailout and diversion, as all eyes are on them, while other state-governments should avoid falling victim (debtor). For the avoidance of doubt, those at the helm of affairs should know that the first duty of government is the protection of lives, security and welfare of the people and not this cunning way to impoverish them and force them into homelessness. Also the government should provide suitable and adequate shelter, adequate food, reasonable national minimum living wage, care for our old ones and regular payment of pensions, provision of employment, sick benefits and welfare for the disabled. This will give for all citizens sense of belonging. Prophet Oladipupo Funmilade-Joel
