Obasanjo, Amosun commend ex-NSCDC boss, Abolurin

ABEOKUTA—Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that lack of continuity is one of the banes of Nigeria’s development
Obasanjo stated this while receiving the immediate-past Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin, yesterday, at his private residence in Abeokuta.
The former President said some essential things would be maintained and preserved through continuity in governance.
Abolurin, who was accompanied by his wife, Aderonke and states commandants of the Corps in the South West to Obasanjo’s residence during his ‘homecoming’ visit , described his 10 years journey as rough, tough and challenging.
In his remarks, Obasanjo explained that he institutionalised the NSCDC while he was the President because of the good work the organisation was doing as a voluntary body for many years.
“You, Ade Abolurin, you did your best, no human being is perfect
and if there is any imperfection that I noted, is probably your enthusiasm to want to get things right. You’ve gone, you’ve seen, and I think you have conquered and you’re welcome home,” he said.
In his remarks, Abolurin, who was hosted separately in Abeokuta by both Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Obasanjo said he survived several assassination attempts while he held sway at Commandant-General of the NSCDC.
Meantime, the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has also hailed the achievements of  Dr. Olu Abolurin while in office, saying he transformed the once unknown outfit into a security agency to be reckoned with.
