Former commissioners and other officials of government in Bayelsa State under the aegis of the Peoples Democratic Party Unity Forum have insisted that Governor Seriake Dickson cannot govern the state again.

For commissioners for Transport and Sport, Marie Ebikake, and Ebikitin Diongoli, who spoke on Tuesday in Yenagoa, said the PDP would not stand any chance in the governorship election if their former boss, Dickson, was returned as the candidate.
According to them, Dickson’s candidature would spell doom for the PDP, stressing that the party would lose abysmally under the incumbent governor.
Ebikake, who is PDP Unity Forum co-ordinator, said the anger of the people of Bayelsa had grown under Dickson and that Dickson had failed the people that he lacked goodwill to govern the state again.
Ebikake, who was removed from office because of her alleged closeness to former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, gave insight into what transpired during their last weekend’s meeting with PDP’s Board of Trustees in former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Otuoke residence.
She said during the meeting, Dickson and former Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha were barred from participating because it was not meant for reconciliation.
She also corrected the rumour that she and other members of the Unity Forum were either expelled or suspended, saying that there was no time they were sanctioned by the party.
Ebikake, who commended the BOT members for intervening in the crisis in Bayelsa PDP, admitted that prior to their intervention, the PDP was divided because of Dickson’s alleged highhandedness and manipulation.
