THE Kano State Police Command on Thursday July 9, 2015 morning beefed up security around the area housing the Federal High Court in readiness for the large crowd expected as the trial of former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, and his son begins.
The police authorities rolled out tanks while there was presence of heavily armed personnel along New Court Road in Kano where the High Court is located.
Lamido and his son are expected to be brought before Justice Riman Fatu over an alleged money laundering charges.
As early as 8.am on Thursday the road leading to the court was closed to traffic, while those allowed into the premises were subjected to thorough search.
